参加2005 SAP技术论坛的情况

因为时间原因，只参加了第二天的演讲。因为此前对SAP了解很少，所以这次只是有个大概的感性认识。

1. 关于ESA

   SAP's ongoing Sapphire conference in Boston has seen CEO Henning Kagermann（孔翰宁） call particular attention to SAP's Enterprise Service Architecture (ESA). "It's not about central command and control any longer," said Kagermann, speaking of SAP specifically and e-business generally. Rather, he said the future will be about the "ability to very quickly, very seamlessly recombine processes into end-to-end business scenarios."（不再是集中式命令与控制，而是把业务流程迅速无缝地集成在端到端的业务场景中）

   There's nothing new about this kind of process talk, which entered the mainstream when Microsoft made its bet on Web services（听IBM说WebService是他们花了大力气推动的。这是说MS）. Indeed, SAP's own NetWeaver is intended to serve as a kind of business process platform. （业务流程的平台, buziness, not IT）
   
   （新东西在这里呢！）What's new is the commitment of e-business vendors (including Adobe, Cisco, Computer Associates (CA), EMC Corp., Intel, Macromedia, Mercury, Microsoft, Symantec and Veritas) to provide solutions dubbed "Enterprise Services Ready" to conform with SAP's architectural blueprint.（众人拾柴火焰高嘛，这次会上，SAP也说要把更多工作交给ISV[独立软件供应商]来做。从另一方面来看，IT格局其实不是用户与供应商的博弈，而是供应商巨头之间的竞争与合作。巨头支持，新方案才能有生命力。我一同学自己开公司，搞光盘存储，颇有感触地说：成功与否不在技术，而在于你的技术能否得到相关供应商的支持）
   
2. 三次变迁：

3. 多次提到IT（software）行业要向汽车行业学习，即建立供应链，把零部件外包给供应商为做。

4. 关于intel的
   Itanium是用来替代Risc架构的，XEON用在小型机上，下一代为montecito
   Intel用了SAP的情况：
   10，000 users
   30 locations
   91 DBs
   340 servers
   ver 3.1 to 4.7
   13种生产环境
   28万对话/天
   40万批处理/月
   
5. 以前听到一种说法：SAP起步早（10 years than Oracle），技术架构一直延用下来，到今天早就落伍了。但是由于重新开发工作量太大，且要兼容旧版本（其实是已有用户，多数可是top 500啊），所以未能真正升级。今天问一个顾问，他说是有此事。
   但从Netweaver来看，应该是很大的变革了。
   以后，70％的功能（业务流程）集成在Netweaver这个平台上。
   
6. ABAP会不会消亡的问题：有了webservice，前台不再关心语言。
7. Portal举了员工自助服务的例子，但是SAP价格高昂，会有企业给每个员工一个ID吗？
8. KM：无甚新意
9. BI：BO公司买下Crystal Decision之后，整合后的产品为BO XI。XI的几种说法：extrem intelligence, experience intelligence (just like MS windows XP), ver 11 after Crystall Report ver10.
