BPM is really perspective?

Recent days I am reading some materials  about BPM. It is reported that BPM market in 2006 is expected to be more than 300 million yuan. I  am invovled in BPM consulting for at least 2 years, but sorry to say that, I have no idea about real BPM software or workflow & their working system. By my knowledge, ERP like SAP  comprises of workflow. Of course, in most cases the processes are fixed.  So maybe BPM product differ from process of ERP in terms of agility, namely, BPM is easily to change,  manage,maintain. But how BPM work with ERP? they are different, but as much a little conflict. Where does BPM work better? How can they cooperate for individual enterprise? I hope BPM experts or someome interested  give me a explicit & fit answer. thank you first.
