HUNGER

In a bustling and ever-changing world, sometimes it’s good for us to stop for a while to look back instead of working and working without thinking about what we have been doing, what we should do at present and in the future, and what we are; even though most of us are only common people whose lives are full of routines and trifles, rarely spotlighted by adventures and dramas. Unfortunately, over thirty years have gone before I realize this, which is terrifically amazing. “They have gone forever. It’s high time you reflected on what happened to you and how you should be freed from the current busyness in order to find your business in life.” The murmur comes directly from the Inner Voice.

The train of thought suddenly becomes wide awake and goes wild. Like most common people, I’m a typical unknown whose life has perfectly been patterned on a universal mold of his generation: nearly one quarter of life being buried by schooling, then being plunged into the ever-growing workforce, whose fierce competition makes most of us wonder whether we could have our afterlife secured even when we have managed to survive the lifelong employment battle. Long before the issue is settled, the sky rocketing housing and education loom ahead. In short, this is definitely the worst times.

However, this may be the best times, too. Information and knowledge is proliferated so wide spread that nearly everyone is able to access it as long as they have such a will. Opportunities are everywhere as long as you go on dreaming your dreams until they become true. This has been clearly demonstrated by countless best selling stories of fortune heroes who have successfully ridden over the waves of the times. In addition, it is the first time that most of us come to know that fortune is not so far away from us: some fortune hero was just a storekeeper in the same neighborhood, or they may be one of our acquaintances who had been struggling for bread to survive. All of a sudden, most of us have a strong desire to be such a fortune hero by ourselves instead of being a mere spectator.

Well, forget about all of those things, for fortune comes and goes after all. Is there anything permanent among all of those changes? At the long tunnel of the train of thought, it dawns on me that hunger is my constitution, hunger is my personal mission. No matter what happened, happens and is going to happen, my hunger for love, my hunger for a passionate career and my hunger for a sense of achievement are always there.

Driven by this very hunger, I am about to rejuvenate my fading past so as to better map out my future. The byproduct of this effort is a story of love, a story of pursuit of passionate career.
