SaaS Sample Application: LitwareHR

LitwareHR is a fictitious HR application providing recruitment management software delivered as a service. The most important aspect of this application is not what the application does, but how it does it. Using the latest Microsoft technologies such as .NET Framework 3.0 and SQL Server 2005, LitwareHR implements single-instance multi-tenancy patterns. These patterns, previously described in our whitepapers, are available in the MSDN SaaS Architecture Center.

The goals of LitwareHR are:

• To be the embodiment of the SaaS architecture guidance described in our whitepapers published in the MSDN SaaS Architecture Center.
• To demonstrate how to use Microsoft technologies in the creation of SaaS solutions.

Below you will find links to the LitwareHR source code, its related documentation, and a couple of videos helping you better understand this sample application. We also invite you to join us on Codeplex, where you will be able to contribute to this project through discussion forums, feature requests and -- why not -- code contribution. For those of you interested in the “behind the scenes” part of this project, visit skyscrapr.net where you can view unplugged videos taken while we were working on this project as well as some design artifacts used in this project.
