London Review of Books（伦敦书评, LRB）

The London Review was founded in 1979 by former editors of The Times Literary Supplement, during the year-long lock-out at The Times. For its first six months, it appeared as an insert in the New York Review of Books. In May 1980, the London Review beCAMe an independent publication with a distinctly radical editorial orientation.

The London Review's first editor was Karl Miller; the current editor is Mary-Kay Wilmers. The average circulation per issue for the period from January 2005 to December 2005 was 43,469

看到London Review of Books这个名字，读者也许会望文生义，以为其跟Publishers Weekly、New York Review of Books一样属于书评杂志，就象The Economist顾名思义会让人认为其是一本纯经济类刊物，其实不然。LRB虽然叫“伦敦书评”，但内容不完全是书评，其中相当一部分为时评、政论分析。LRB属于时评刊物里比较人文的那种，性质有点类似于我国的《读书》杂志，撰稿者多为资深作家、评论家、学者，牛人很多，正如封面图片上显示出来的那样：Perry Andersen、Judith Butler、Eric Hobsbawm、Chalmers Johnson…… 相信读这样文风优美、分析深刻的刊物，一定能带给人赏心悦目之感。
